These days, woke is a joke. In the purest sense of the word.
The woke crowd say and do absolutely anything no matter how nonsensical, and they expect the world to wholeheartedly agree with them. If you don’t follow the narrative, then you’re racist or homophobic or in need of reprogramming. Literally.
The saddest truth about all this is that, first, the woke pundits actually believe that what they’re saying is valid, and, second, a large portion of the population in this nation agree with them. It’s a pitiful state of affairs.
True wisdom only comes from God. Without Him and His Holy Spirit to enlighten the mind and heart, there is no way one can know truth from lies. Jesus said “I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). True wisdom comes from only one source, God, and without Him true wisdom is not achievable. Romans 8:7 is more blunt: “The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.” That’s why the woke crowd is not only spouting stupidity and ridiculousness, but they are believing it, and they can’t possibly imagine why certain demographics are not following them in lock step.
The woke phenomenon has been brewing for a very long time. While insightful Christian leaders have been warning the world for decades about giving up control of the seven influential mountains of society, woke Christians have been decrying the seven mountains movement as heresy and pummeling their brothers and sisters in Christ for believing – how dare we – that God wants us to be actively spreading His gospel message throughout all corners of society. Meanwhile, many aspects of American culture (and all western culture for that matter) have gone to hell in a handbasket and these “Christian” woke leaders apparently want more of it!
It is shameful how egregiously the pulpit has dropped the ball. The Black Robe Regiment were a group of pastors and preachers who, beneath their black church robes, wore their uniforms and swords, and they were ready to fight for the freedoms that eventually led to the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. They understood what it meant to live under the tyranny of elitist governments, and they wanted none of that for this great nation.
America was founded on God’s principles of unity, equality, wisdom and grace. This nation is one of God’s grand experiments. Many may think that’s too lofty a statement regarding a nation that has made its fair share of mistakes, but any human institution (even God’s chosen people the Israelites) makes plenty of mistakes. Does that nullify the grace of God or His ultimate plans? Of course not! But to listen to some woke preachers, one would think it has.
If you know anything at all about the founding of our nation, the reasons we originally left the motherland to begin the grand American experiment, and the miraculous events that helped establish this “one nation, under God, indivisible,” then there is no denying that God was involved in the founding of this nation, He has used it mightily throughout its existence, and He is not about to give up on it.
The woke joke is that we all need to work as hard as possible to make everyone feel good. People need to feel good about every choice they make, no matter how ridiculous or illogical. Doesn’t matter what your gender is, whatever you feel is the only thing that matters. Doesn’t matter what you feel about government handouts, if it makes you feel good, then do it! Doesn’t matter who gets censored, jailed or forcibly silenced, if people are disrupting my serenity then they need to be gone! We are living in an age where common sense is illegal, truth is scorned, freedom is being trampled upon, and spiritual truth is ridiculed and hated. This is why I can confidently say that there is only one way out of this mess.
Mario Murillo is one of my modern day heroes. He began holding tent crusades in the middle of the pandemic, in California no less! Right in the face of Gov. Newsome’s lockdowns, he began holding tent revivals in which thousands have found Christ and have been delivered from drug addiction, disease, depression and suicidal tendencies. He, like the sons of Issachar, understands the times. He realizes that revival is the only way out of this mess.
Why?
Because real TRUTH only comes from one Source. Without that Source, we cannot hope that the masses will embrace truth. They don’t know how (remember Romans 8:7). Decades of liberal education and godless pursuits in every mountain of society have led us to the brink of collapse. I can’t name one single good decision made by our current government administration, but I can name hundreds of truly stupid decisions that cost lives, cause hardship, increase poverty, increase crimes and violence, and divide society.
But this should not surprise us. Without God actively informing their decisions, government leaders, business leaders, the leaders of high-tech companies bent on squelching every vestige of truth and sobriety, and yes, even many Christian leaders, have no hope to make the correct decisions about anything. Even in the face of true revival, and hundreds finding freedom from destructive lifestyles, Mario Murillo is maligned for holding his meetings against the government lockdown orders and without masks no less! He, my friends, is the ultimate Dangerous Heretic. And I love him for it!
Yes, the only way out for this nation is a mass turning toward the God of the Universe. Only He can provide true hope, true peace, true joy in the midst of any and all circumstances. Only He can provide us the wisdom, both individually and collectively, that we need to not only survive but to thrive as a nation. In the end, God will separate the sheep nations from the goat nations.
God cares about nations. He cares about our nation and every other nation on the planet. I’m so over the model where we strive to get people to pray a salvation prayer then we’re on to the next event where we can add more feathers to our caps. No, we are called to make disciples. Of all nations. A salvation prayer is a good first step, but it’s worthless to the rest of humanity if that person just hangs on in his prayer closet until Jesus comes back.
No, God needs warriors and leaders, now more than ever. We are His hands and feet on this earth. I once heard a saying that is very powerful and true:
“Without Him, we can’t. Without us, He won’t.”
We can only be effective with the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through us. But He won’t just sovereignly straighten up everything without our involvement. God made a covenant with the human race, and especially with those who call themselves His children, a covenant to bless us mightily, but only as we submit to His authority and obey His every word.
It’s called Repentance. Revival. Rethinking our assumptions. When the majority of people in this nation turn to Him in humility, hungering for His presence, then His power will show up and not only this nation, but the world, will experience a revival like never before.
Many pundits are claiming that the third great awakening is already upon us. God has started a fire, and those who refuse to cooperate and who cling to the woke joke will be left behind. You want to be part of history? You want to be able to tell your grandkids decades from now that you were part of the great awakening that changed the world for the better? Then reject the woke joke. Cling to God and His truth. Share that truth with everyone you know. Expect good things. Actually begin to believe God’s truth and expect Him to deliver. Believe that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
This is not a contest. There is no evil power that can even come close to thwarting God’s purposes. The closest thing to a phenomenon that can thwart God is the unbelief and waywardness of His own children. Let this be a wake-up call to all those who feel the warrior spirit rising up within them. Be a Dangerous Heretic for the good of the world around you. Actually dare to believe that the bible is true and that God is not a liar. Believe that He will indeed answer your prayers and honor your witness as a follower of Jesus.
